Good morning ladies and gentleman. At this time, I will covey you about the importance of the trench development of the road. Why is this so important to convey? Because a lot of us see the problems that occur due to absence of a ditch on the roadside. Either through the medium of television, radio or newspaper. Flooding is an annual problem that always happens in Indonesia, especially in big cities like Jakarta with a lot of population and buildings. Even the roadside often make a place to sell without regard to safety and the rules of the ban on selling on the roadside.

The ditch is a long open pit on the ground where the water flows. Trenches are formed naturally on the surface of the earth, or deliberately made by humans. The function of a ditch are to drain water, both household waste, rainwater and etc, from somewhere and end up in the river. Can we imagine what if there is no ditch on the roadside? Roads that do not have ditches will be inundated when it rains, buildings around the road will also be inundated. Even worse if there are heavy rain and long, there will be a very harmful flood. If the road is inundated very long, then there will be damage to the road with the emergence of holes on the road surface. The surrounding buildings will also suffer structural damage, especially for buildings with wood material. Is that the only problem that will arise due to the absence of a ditch? Of course not. Too many disadvantages to mention. Do you still think the ditch is not important?

Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) released disaster records in Indonesia throughout 2016. As many as 92 percent of the disaster that hit Indonesia is a disaster hydrometeorology category. Hydrometeorology disaster means a natural disaster triggered by heavy rainfall, heavy and wet during the rainy season. Records of hydrometeorology disasters such as floods and landslides in Indonesia soar throughout 2016. Even the BNPB concludes that the 2016 disaster record is much larger than in 2015. Now in 2017, an increase in the 2016 disaster record yesterday should be an early warning that Indonesia is still under siege by possible natural disasters, especially those triggered by hydrometeorology factors such as floods.

Is the flood just because there is no trench? Of course not. Trenches are full of garbage and sediment dirt also trigger the occurrence of flooding. This is due to the reduced capacity of the ditch to accommodate and drain the flow of water. So who is responsible for the flood disaster in Indonesia? Is it a government that does not build a ditch by the side of the road? Or the people? Building a ditch on the side of the road is the responsibility of the government as a provider and the implementation of the construction of public facilities. While the people is also involved in making trenches around the house and keep clean. Do not throw garbage in the trenches, do not build buildings above the trenches, and do not close the drain.

My Future Business

When you have something that you like, and you love it, not always in the form of objects, maybe like a hobby that you have or another. You will make all it is always there around you. In what way? Simple. You can make your hobby or something you love as a job. Making money from a hobby, you could call it a business. Fun isn't it?

A lot of people who choose to work as civil servants to meet the needs of the household. A lot of allowances that can guarantee life until retirement. Work for the government and got a paycheck. Even when retired still gets alimony. Who wouldn't want to?

But not all people think the same. Not all people want to work under the control of others. There are those who choose to fight the current. Work according to the wishes of the heart and have flexible time. That's the job that is expected of people with an open mind. And I was in the ranks of people like this. I want to be an entrepreneur.

There is one activity that makes me happy to do it, I call it a hobby. I like the design. I create a design and apply it to a t-shirt. I made it for my own use. I've been thinking to make a t-shirt and sell it. So I will get money from it. But until this moment I have not dared to start it. I think to finish my college, after that I will try to make it happen. From my hobby, I want to make it as my future business. I will be selling t-shirts with my brand own. REGRAPH.

Well, that's my future business. I hope I can make it so real.

Akeelah and the Bee

Answers:

1.    My favorite character in the movie is Akeelah Anderson. Because she is a strong girl. She is brave fight shame when her friends laugh at her. Don’t give up when her mother didn’t allow she joined the spelling bee competition.

2.    My favorite scene is when Akeelah’s mother permit her to join the spelling bee competition. The scene teach me that listening is something hard. A sense of worry shouldn’t be bigger than the confidence. As adults especially parents, you don’t need ego, tried to open mind and heart is important things when dealing with children. Enough to listen to them.

The Work Can't Stop The Hobby

            She is the prettiest, the best and everything. Who is she? She is my mother. Her complete name is Yulia Theresia. She worked as a civil servant. Currently I am interested to discuss about the figure that I idolized. Why? Because, she is a hard worker, but I never heard she complain about the work. And something that makes me very curious is that she sewed uniform work alone. Even the school uniforms of her children are also in sewing by her. She is very talented to sew. It made me curious. So, a few days ago we did an interview. Here are the results of my interview with my mother beloved.

(M = Mother, R = Resti/me)

R       :    “Mom, I know you are a hard worker. And you are often busy in the office. How to do your job but keep doing hobby? Is it troublesome?”

M      :    “Haha.. I just love my job, so I never feel burdened. To do a hobby, right now I only do it when there is free time, and need a new clothes. Because as you know, the higher the job title, then the responsibility will also increase.”

R       :    “Okay, I’m going to focus on your talent. Since when did you learn to sew? Whether your ambition is to become a tailor?”

M      :    “No, I indeed want to be civil servants. First I took a sewing course while waiting to get a job. As time went on I increasingly adept at sewing, I was accepted as a civil servant, and keep sewing.”

R       :    “Oh, so until today how many clothes you've made? And any outfit that you create?”

M      :    “Wow, I can't count how many clothes I've made. Because it's been more than twenty years. But to suit what I create, I managed to make t-shirts, shirts, dresses, skirts, trousers, shorts, bedding, curtain, bedsheets and many more.”

R       :    “Hm.. I'm proud of you. So, can you give some tip for me as your son and to readers about how to be successful at work while doing a hobby?”

M      :    “Well, you just need to love your job. Keep learning to improve ourselves. Responsible and self-confident. Don't forget to keep praying and trying. Working as a civil servant, it doesn't mean you can't be creative with a hobby. Develop your talent. Then when you retire from your job, you have a new job from your hobby.”

R       :    “All right, thank you for sharing your experience and tips for me and the reader. may be beneficial for us.”

I can't imagine life without plants

Have you ever imagined if life without plants? My mind there is only one word, arid! Why? Because there are no plants that can be an oxygen for living beings, be a something like umbrella that can protect you from sun, and the land looks so dry.

All of living beings need plants. The meaning of plants are vegetable, tree, grass and flower. From there, any something  you don't need? No, you need vegetable to eat, you need tree to protect you from rain and sun, and you also need grass and flower to make your home looks good.

I can't imagine if God not created plants in this world. But if I have to imagine, I think earth without plants, must be very arid and hot. Right now, so many people don't care about the damage to the forest. A lot of the burning of the forest happened to be the land plantation and the settlement. See! Right now, we can feel the temperature of our earth becoming increasingly hot. Even a lot of the case of the death of the animal because the temperature change drastically. That's all happened because of the earth experience global warming.

So, if the burning of the forest not stop, have you ever imagined what happen with living beings and this earth for 20 years ahead?

My Skills

Skill. Every body must have the skill. Because that will make you to be a special person. You can to be rich, famous, etc with your skill. A lot of people have more than one skill. But not many from them can manage all their skill well. You must try to enhance your skill one by one, so you will know what you like and you get the benefit from that.

Okay, tonight I will tell you about my skills. My skills are drawing and designing. I'm crazy about them. Every I feel bored, I'll do it. Drawing make me feel better. Drawing and designing need concentration, so I can forget my problem or a sense of boredom. I like to draw since the third grade of elementary school. I like drawing cartoons, barbies, dress, skirt, shirt, trousers, pants and many more.  While I study designing by myself since the first grade of junior high school. I study designing by the Photoshop and Coreldraw. With the skills that I have, I tried to join the drawing and design competitions. When the third grade of junior high school, I try to join drawing competition to commemorate the Child National Day. From that competition, I am a third winner. For the first time I get the trophy from drawing competition. While the second competition, I join to the poster design in FLS2N Pontianak. The first poster design competition when I was a student at the first grade of senior high school. I know, if I always try and pray, nothing impossible. So I am a third winner of West Borneo province from that competition. I am very happy, i get the trophy, money, certificate, also make my parents and school proud of me. But, that is not enough for me. At the next year, I try again. I join to the same competition. And the result is I'm to be a second winner. Well, I think that is over. I can't join to the same competition until I become the fist winner. I was student at the third grade of senior high school. I must focus for the examination. Right now I still learning enhance my skills.

Well, I think that's all about my skills. You can get the many of benefits from your skill if you always practice it, hope the great result, try, try, try, and pray. Thank you.

Answer  :  They can help us do the kind of activity that we can’t or don’t have time too. They can help us clean the house, do the grocery, mown the lawn, that’s all the kind of jobs that people now don’t have to do, because we’re so busy that we rule out those things. Other things that they can do is accompany us anywhere. For example, going for a walk in the park, or they can help us walk our pet because we don’t have time to do it.

                 But, robots will make our way lives worse because they are smart and they can even be smarter than us human who mode them want them to be great and smart. If they can do our job than what are we gonna do? We’re getting lazy because we have robots that can do everything and anything we order. Those kind of things can also impact our health, because we wouldn’t want to do anything.

Answer  :  We would like to see robot cars. Those type of cars that can drive us anywhere, the one that don’t need anyone behind the wheels. With just simple tap and navigation they can drive us anywhere.

a)      Airline pilot. I’m not happy for robots to do airline pilot job. Because too dangerous if something bad happen in airplane. Robots can’t feel and thinking like the human in emergency situation on air.

b)      Cook. I’m happy with this. Because right now, so many people want all about anything with the fast response. If robots to do cook job, all will be fast, some of the food will be cooked at one time.

c)      Doctor. I don’t agree with this. Because it isn’t always patient in stable condition. Sometimes people make mistakes during the surgery, so we only need a human doing this job.

d)     Police officer. Actually I don’t agree with this. Because I think only human can do this job. Robots don’t have feelings. But robots can help the human police to do their job. For example, robots can search for criminals using x-rays in a hidden place.

e)      Singer. I think this is a bad idea. Robots can singing, but that is just program. It have some weakness. Don’t have feelings, can’t thinking like human. So, robots can’t live singing.

f)       Store clerk. I agree with this. Because so many people want all about anything with the fast response. People can searching what they need with the computer, and they can pay by putting a shopping card in the machine reader with Radio Frequency Identity (RFID) system.

g)      Taxi driver. Yes, I agree with this. Each robot car has a navigation tool or GPS. So, I thought it would never happen accidents on road.

h)      Teacher. I’m happy with this. Because robots can’t be angry. So if the students don’t understand it doesn’t matter. And we can ask the robot repeat the lesson until we understand.
